Faculty Collective Bargaining
CONTRACTS EXECUTED FOR UIC’S TWO FACULTY BARGAINING UNITS
Contracts between the University of Illinois at Chicago and separate bargaining units for its tenure-system and non-tenure-system faculty have now been fully executed on behalf of the University. The three-year collective bargaining agreements, which are retroactive for two years and extend through August of next year, are now in effect.
Chancellor Paula Allen-Meares and Provost Lon Kaufman issued a joint statement:
“Throughout the long process of negotiation and ratification of these contracts, the University and its faculty both remained focused on the teaching, research and service missions of the university. These agreements now allow us to move forward together to serve the city and the state and, most of all, our students.”
